Welcome to THE DAILY CONSTITUTIONAL, where I'll be blogging at intervals on some of my favourite topics -- ethics, public choice theory, electoral systems, and constitutional, administrative and international law (mainly with an Australian perspective). Who's this? Tom Round: since June 2004, an Associate Lecturer in the School of Law & Justice, Southern Cross University, Lismore, northern New South Wales, Australia. My degrees are in Arts (with honours in Government -- my thesis is online here) and Law from the University of Queensland, and plus PhD (in Politics & Public Policy) from Griffith University, Brisbane. I've lectured and/or tutored in the Schools of in Criminology (formerly Justice Administration) and Politics at Griffith University, and of Government at UQ, and has also worked in the Commonwealth Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs. Before starting at SCU, I was a Research Fellow at Griffith's Key Centre for Ethics, Law, Justice and Governance (KCELJAG). I've co-edited two books, Beyond the Republic: Meeting the Global Challenges to Constitutionalism and Asia Pacific Governance: From Crisis to Reform [read Intro chapter online here], and I'm co-authoring Retrospectivity and the Rule of Law (forthcoming, OUP, 2005) with Professor Charles Sampford and others.
